Whether you’re a gamer seeking to meet other students through the UNCG Esports Club Team, a student seeking lab time for your academics, or a fierce competitor facing off in national esports competitions, the esports arena is the place for you.

Are you interested in a gaming career? The rapidly growing industry of competitive video gaming offers numerous career opportunities. Check out UNCG’s academic offerings:

  • Esports Management concentration in the Bryan School’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program, and

  • Esports Digital Certificate, a non credit online program

UNCG Esports Arena

Looking for a place to play League of Legends or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? UNCG’s new Esports Arena is scheduled to open Spring 2022. Centrally located in Moran Commons, the Esports Arena will include:

UNCG’s Esports Club

If you enjoy esports, whether you’re a casual player or a serious competitor, check out UNCG’s Gaming & Esports Club. Competing in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), the team has won 7 titles, boasts 9 teams, has 75 players total, and nearly 200 active club members playing:

  • Apex Legends

  • League of Legends

  • Rainbow 6

  • Rocket League

  • Splatoon 2

  • Super Smash Brothers Ultimate

  • Valorant

Whether tabletop gaming sessions or online, the Gaming and Esports Club is a great way to meet new people on campus, practice your skills, and try new games. Open to everyone — all skill levels are welcome!

Jacob Crawford
Assistant Director, Esports

Jacob is responsible for the day-to-day operations and programming of the Esports Arena and serves as the advisor to the UNCG Esports & Gaming Club.

Cedric Dunham
Graduate Assistant, Esports

Cedrics is a first-year graduate student in the M.Ed. program in Higher Education and is responsible for assisting with the Esports Arena operations and leadership of the Arena Supervisors.

Level up your career game with esports


UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics now offers an Esports Management concentration in the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. The new concentration is designed to prepare individuals for careers in esports administration and management with a focus on esports operations, such as event management and marketing, destination management, and strategic planning. This is a business degree that provides you with a strong foundation in the functional areas of business with additional major coursework that dives into the dynamic business of competitive gaming.


UNC Greensboro’s new noncredit digital certificate program in Esports develops career skills in the fast-growing industry of competitive video gaming.

Although these are noncredit courses, they’re academically rigorous. Plan on spending up to 7 hours per week on each course. You’ll earn a digital badge for each 4-week course you complete. Complete all six courses to earn the digital certificate.
