Summer Camp Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policies

Summer camp instructional time is from 8 am – 5 pm.
Drop-off time is 7:45 am – 8:15 am. Pick-up time is 5:00 pm – 5:20 pm.

Morning Drop-Off Hours and Location

  • To ensure every child’s safety, parents/guardians MUST check-in with a camp counselor to drop-off their child.
  • The drop-off spot is in front of the Elliott University Center located off Stirling St. You will not have to exit your car to drop-off your camper.
  • If parents/guardians are needing to park their car to escort their camper, we suggest the Walker Parking Deck. The first 30 minutes of parking are free. Parking locations, classrooms, and a campus map will be provided to parents/guardians prior to the start of the summer camp session.

Afternoon Pick-Up Hours and Location

  • To ensure every child’s safety, campers will only be released to people on the camper’s Authorized Pick-Up list with a picture ID.
  • Campers can be picked up anytime between 5:00 pm – 5:20 pm at the same location as morning drop-off.
  • If you are planning to pick up your camper earlier than 5:00pm, please notify our Program Coordinator, Melody Bernstein at least one day in advance so we can coordinate an in-classroom pick-up.

Summer Camp FAQ

  • What camp documents do I need to sign?

After signing up your child for our camp, you will receive an email prior to your camper’s start date from our Program Coordinator with forms that you need to sign via Google Docs. These forms will ensure we have your contact information on file, pick-up information, media release forms, and any medical needs we need to be aware of. Thirteen days prior to the start of your child’s camp session, you will receive a full camp agenda, classroom locations, and maps to classrooms and parking.

  • Who can I contact if I need to get in touch with the camp during the day?

Because we will typically not be in the office, the best way to contact us is by emailing our Program Coordinator at m_bernstein@uncg.edu. If you are having difficulty getting in contact via email, you can call our Enrollment Management department at 336-334-5582 and they will be happy to relay messages to our camp.

  • What is the lunch protocol?

Between 12:00pm – 1:00pm, campers will eat with the counselors in our Food Court on-campus. Students are welcome to bring their own lunch or bring money for the Food Court. Due to allergies, we ask campers to avoid bringing nut products. We are unable to refrigerate any lunches, so please pack them in a lunchbox with an ice pack if necessary. To see a list of what is open at the Food Court and a menu, please check out Spartan Dining. The Food Court accepts cash and card. If the weather is nice, we may sometimes eat outside.

  • What should my camper wear or bring?
    • Comfortable clothing and shoes
    • Refillable water bottle
    • Snacks, lunch, and/or cash (if camper is buying food at our Food Court). Please avoid bringing nut products.
    • Rain gear

We recommend campers do not bring valuables to camp. If a camper chooses to bring valuables to camp (e.g. a mobile device), UNCG is not responsible for it.  All of our camp counselors will have a mobile phone and contact information for parents/guardians if the camper needs to get in touch with their family. If a camper does bring a mobile phone, we ask campers to not be on their device during instructional time.

Campers do NOT need to bring their own laptop or computer to camp. Computers will be available for them to use in our computer lab and Esports arena.

  • What should I do if my camper is sick?

One of our top priorities at camp is the health and safety of all our campers. If your camper has a communicable illness, please keep them home for the day. If a camper is dropped off at camp and a communicable illness is suspected (fever, vomiting, pink eye, etc.), you will be expected to pick up your camper within 30 minutes of our notification. Campers may return to camp with a note from a physician approving their return. Please be aware that we do not give refunds for illnesses the week of camp.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

We will honor a full refund if you cancel 14 days prior to the start of the camp session. After 14 days, no refunds will be made.
