UNCG is premiering its first-ever Esports & Gaming Summer Camp for 9-14 year-olds. This summer, four one-week summer camps are being offered on campus in computer labs and the brand new Esports arena, a new state-of-the-art 3,300 square feet esports facility. The arena includes more than 36 PCs and at least four gaming consoles, four large video walls, and eight large-screen video panels to facilitate shared experiences with areas for collaboration and academic instruction.
The summer camp content will include instruction from Black Rocket gaming company and UNCG faculty members. The summer camp will consist of two major topics being covered throughout the week – one in the morning and one in the afternoon and also some time allotted for gameplay and competitions.
To register for summer camps, please visit the registration website.

Summer camp instructional time is from 8 am – 5 pm.
Drop-off time is 7:45am – 8:00am. Pick-up time is 5:00pm – 5:15pm.
After signing up your child for our camp, you will receive an email prior to your camper’s start date from our Program Coordinator with forms that you need to sign via Google Docs. These forms will ensure we have your contact information on file, pick-up information, media release forms, and any medical needs we need to be aware of. Within a month of the camp start date, you will receive a full camp agenda, classroom locations, and maps to classrooms and parking.
Because we will typically not be in the office, the best way to contact us is by emailing our Program Coordinator at m_bernstein@uncg.edu. If you are having difficulty getting in contact via email, you can call our Enrollment Management department at 336-334-5582 and they will be happy to relay messages to our camp.
Between 12:00pm – 1:00pm, campers will eat with the counselors in our Food Court on-campus. Students are welcome to bring their own lunch or bring money for the Food Court. Due to allergies, we ask campers to avoid bringing nut products. We are unable to refrigerate any lunches, so please pack them in a lunchbox with an ice pack if necessary. To see a list of what is open at the Food Court and a menu, please check out Spartan Dining. The Food Court accepts cash and card. If the weather is nice, we may sometimes eat outside.
We recommend campers do not bring valuables to camp. If a camper chooses to bring valuables to camp (e.g. a mobile device), UNCG is not responsible for it. All of our camp counselors will have a mobile phone and contact information for parents/guardians if the camper needs to get in touch with their family. If a camper does bring a mobile phone, we ask campers to not be on their device during instructional time.
Campers do NOT need to bring their own laptop or computer to camp. Computers will be available for them to use in our computer lab and Esports arena.
One of our top priorities at camp is the health and safety of all our campers. If your camper has a communicable illness, please keep them home for the day. If a camper is dropped off at camp and a communicable illness is suspected (fever, vomiting, pink eye, etc.), you will be expected to pick up your camper within 30 minutes of our notification. Campers may return to camp with a note from a physician approving their return. Please be aware that we do not give refunds for illnesses the week of camp.
We will honor a full refund if you cancel 14 days prior to the start of the camp session. After 14 days, no refunds will be made.
If you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to our Program Coordinator, Melody Bernstein at m_bernstein@uncg.edu.
