Spartan Clash featuring Rocket League

SPARTAN CLASH FEATURING ROCKET LEAGUE is open to UNCG students, as well as students from North Carolina high schools, colleges, and community Colleges. Registration is now open thru January 22 at 11:59 p.m. 

Teams will take part in online qualifiers on Saturday, January 28th. The top 16 teams will advance to compete in the UNCG Esports Arena and Learning Lab on Saturday, February 4th. Doors open at noon, with game play from 2:00-7:00pm. Students must show student ID at check-in. 

The finals on February 4th will begin with four groups of four teams playing in a round robin group stage. The top two teams in each group will then advance to an 8-team single elimination bracket. Cash prizes will be awarded to teams placing in top four.

Event Information

Snacks will be provided. Spectators will have plenty of seating and large screens to watch the livestream. The Esports arena is located right next to our dining hall and within walking distance of a Starbucks, Bojangles, and other dining options on campus, as well as our campus bookstore.

Directions & Parking

The Esports Arena is located inside Moran Commons on the Campus of UNC Greensboro.

Parking is free in the surface lots on Saturday. Lots 3, 8, 9 and 15 are available for free parking. Lot 7 behind the Weatherspoon Museum would also be an option. You may use the decks but will be charged the standard parking rate. More parking information can be found here.

Tournament Schedule

  • January 28th (Saturday):
    • 3pm: Online qualifiers *required*
  • February 4th (Saturday):
    • 12 pm (noon): Doors open
    • 1 pm – 2 pm: Player warm-up, team photos
    • 2 pm – 7 pm: Game play
    • 7 pm – 8 pm: Highlights, award presentations, winner photos and interviews
